Memorial Day Cabin Retreat

Jared and I spent Memorial Day weekend with friends at the cabin. We ate delicious food, relaxed by the fire, played games, watched Catch Me If You Can, and listened intently to Neil Diamond radio. While we were cooking breakfast Monday morning it started to snow. Before we knew it, we were in the middle of a blizzard. We were all bundled up inside the cabin with a fire going and soft music playing in the background while the snow fell outside. Gosh! It felt like Christmas.

Jared has a fascination with Neil Diamond. It started one day when he was studying for a test with a friend. He heard a neighbor listening to Neil Diamond, and being totally bored and sick of studying Jared started downloading his hits. I know what you're thinking, and yes I did marry an old man. What is this? So when we were at the cabin we kept joking about how our stay would be complete with a little Neil. Don't worry that I turned on the satellite and happened to find a sirius music station called Neil Diamond Radio. Our top 5 favorite Neil Diamond tunes are:

We played Ticket to Ride twice—so fun! It’s similar to Settlers of Catan. You use trains to make routes between cities in the U.S. Jared won game 1, and I took game 2. You could say we're a little competitive.
